"The way to discover what you were put on earth for is to go back into your past, list the times you felt most fulfilled, and then see if you can draw a line through them. What have you truly loved thus far, and what has uplifted your soul? What has dominated and delighted it at the same time? Assemble these venerated objects before you in a row, and perhaps they will reveal a law by their nature and their order, the fundamental law of your true self." - Nietzsche
Anima Mundi: Latin term for "Soul of The World." The idea is that the entire universe has a spiritual essence or a soul that animates and pervades all things in it. It suggests that the universe is not just a physical phenomenon but also has a spiritual or metaphysical dimension. It is a way of understanding the world as a living, interconnected entity with a spiritual essence that gives meaning and purpose to everything that exists within it.
Rounding out our creativity month, we're talking about the magnetic charge behind our work when done correctly and challenging one way of our thinking. Everyone wants to make money and be a boss, making a living from what they create, which is excellent. But what's funny is, if the business side heavily influences the creative phase, you won't even have a product to sell because the integrity of what you create has been compromised from the start and will show in the work produced and in your enthusiasm for it. For example, someone bases creative decisions solely on what's popular and what others want to see, regardless of how they feel. Things of value that connect beyond the surface don't work that way.
Great creations of any kind have kinetic energy within them comparable to love, existing beyond rational comprehension that draws us in. When working through ideas or deciding on projects, what is the thing that spikes the needle within that has that magnetic draw? It's brief and fleeting, but you can feel what excites you. It's worth exploring those sensations because they can lead to new discoveries you can't even think of now. And it could be something beyond our comprehension that might be nudging you in the right direction for the right idea or insight. Even if nothing comes from exploring that feeling at the moment, it may be what was needed for something later down the road that leads to something more significant that you can't even fathom yet. The key is to get more in tune with the natural rhythms of nature and the universe and less synced with the irregularities of what serves the system because, at the end of the day, that only serves itself and not you. Anything you create of substance is interconnected to the energy and light the work generates inside you. You are the audience, and what can YOU contribute to the art/piece of work you're engaged with to make it the best it possibly can be?

Below I wanted to share this awesome clip of legendary producer/audio engineer/artist DJ Quik talking about the cosmic difference between an audio recording on analog Tape vs. digital. A lot of what he said can be applied to film photography, which I always talk about here. You all have to stop listening to the goofballs online, always trying to sell you gear (which has its place), and understand that there is an entire unseen consciousness to creation other than X & Os.
