I answered your questions

Writer: Jesse JacquesJesse Jacques

Jesse Jacques Photography, Jesse Jacques Photo doing a q&a session.

Alright, so last month, I sent out a link to the people who are subscribed to the newsletter where they could anonymously ask me anything they wanted for a future blog post, so below are answers to some of your questions. A few of you had me laughing, knowing I wouldn't post your wild question šŸ˜‚. Anyway, I'll do this again in the future and maybe make a video or something for the next one. Enjoy!

Your Questions Answered

Q: How long have you grown your hair, and would you ever cut it?

A: I grew my hair out in college and never looked back. I would never cut it, and I'll grow old with super long hair. I'll just usually braid it and call it a day.

Q: What did you study in college?

A: I have a science degree in Sport and Exercise Science, so I was going to pursue the whole strength and conditioning thing for maybe a sports team, but that was never a passion, and life had other plans.

Q: What are your Big 3 zodiac signs?

A. It's wild, actually. I have THREE moons in my zodiac chart. I didn't even know about the "big 3" until an awesome model told me I should look them up during a photoshoot. Here ya go:

Sun = Cancer

Moon = Pisces

Rising = Cancer

Shout out to all the moody water signs. We sense everything šŸ˜† šŸ’Ŗ

Q. Film photography is expensive. Can you still make money?

A. Yes, you can absolutely make money. There is a market for everyone and everything.

Q: What is your worst experience as a photographer so far?

A: Getting a call or text on the day of the photoshoot, right before the shoot, that they will be a no-show. The disrespect šŸ˜. You can't graduate to a professional photographer unless that happens to you. That's why I respect good agents in the industry who have to put up with and put out fires like that all the time behind the scenes.

Q: Favorite Camera?

A: I don't have a favorite, just a favorite for the particular job/assignment.

Q: What is your favorite Filmstock?

A: Portra 800

Q: Where do you buy your vintage cameras?

A: Mainly eBay sellers from Japan, and once in a while, while traveling, you can find something as well.

Q: What is your ethnicity?

A: I'm MultiRacial, so a few different things.šŸ˜

Q: Why do you make jokes about digital Photography? (Paraphrased question)

A: I'm not going to lie; this made me laugh out loud. It's fun to poke at digital photography and its megapixels and new cameras every month. People in that space actually debate about specs and pixels etc. BTW I have friends who shoot digital. ;)

Q: Did you ever play in a band?

A: Yes, I was the guitarist in a few.

Q: What is your Favorite Band or Music?

A: It all depends on my mood. When I'm working or brainstorming ideas, etc. I like to have on anything melodic, though.

Q: How can I start film photography?

A: Don't hesitate and jump right in. There are plenty of resources on youtube and online to get you started. The film community is pretty cool; mostly everyone likes sharing their knowledge.
