Size Matters: Go BIGGER With LARGE FORMAT

We've all heard the saying in photography circles that it's not the gear or camera that matters; it's how you use it, which is true. If someone produces crappy work with inexpensive equipment, they will do the same work with expensive equipment. No amount of money or pricey gear can buy your way into the hearts of people—results matter. Nevertheless, there are times when ideas, jobs, concepts, productions, etc., require a specific piece of equipment where only that "tool" can produce a distinct look and feel. That is why I'll be adding Large Format Film Photography options to my list of services starting in the fall.

Why Large Format?

For those unaware, large format film photography is the undisputed Champion when it comes to resolution, tonality, and every other spec imaginable regarding the QUALITY of an image. It's the best of the best, and even with how far technology has come, digital cameras can't even come close to what Large format analog cameras can produce.

My newest large format addition helps capture and create high-end beautiful images inside and out of the studio.

In the past, we've discussed how film cameras imprint an image whereas digital makes virtual renders of an image (here are the articles Link & Link). Because film imprints, it can capture that invisible special something that we can only feel and sense. Large formats can encompass considerable amounts of those hidden aether mysteries due to the enormous film negative the medium produces. Look at the difference in surface size it can capture compared to all other camera sizes.

Fun Fact: When viewing a subject on the ground glass of these cameras, the image is actually upside down. Photographers have to compose an inverted scene before taking a picture. It gives a literal Meaning when we say film photographers see the world differently.

Large format isn't suited for every circumstance, and medium format is still the go-to foundation. Still, when you need to level up your project where the absolute highest image quality is required for specific images, it will be available as an add-on since the film comes as individual sheets instead of a roll.

With this new format, photography around here is taking another leap forward by providing you with a select high-end classic option to express yourself that isn't regular and ordinary. We're all meant to stand out; who wants to fit in and follow the crowd? Conventional is boring, and we're painting the world with a different set of brushes. 😉 With that said, I hope you all have a great week and go after whatever you want out of life. I'll see you at the top, drinks on me. ❤️‍🔥🌙🌊
