Most months, I'm usually involved with some eclectic mix of photography projects that stretch my perspective and way of seeing. At the same time, I won't post most of that work in this context because it might not fit into the overall whole of current website theme/layout. That doesn't mean those projects are any less outstanding or significant to my work and progression as an artist. I made a slight exception because it fits this week's blog topic.
Recently I had a photoshoot with a client who is 66 years old!! Her spirit was so fearless and youthful that she had no inhibitions and gave 100% throughout the entire photoshoot, which is why her editorial came out so great. I mention this because, especially with anything creative, people often get in their own way because of how they feel. On the one hand, you can have uninhibited, driven, and poised talented people of any age and ethnic background; on the other, you have a group of gifted individuals missing in action due to their feelings and fear.
I don't know the full scope of why that is, but I felt it's worth mentioning that there is no difference between the Hero and the Coward in how they FEEL; it's what they DO that makes them different. 'The Hero and the Coward feel exactly the same, and you must learn to control your fear and be disciplined enough to do what a hero does and keep yourself from doing what a coward does.' Do you know who dropped that beautiful wisdom on us? Legendary boxing trainer Cus D'Amato. He is best known for adopting fellow sun sign cancer Mike Tyson as a teen and training him to become the youngest heavyweight champion in history. In the video below is Cus D'Amato, in his own words giving us the game that literally builds winners and champions in any industry.
❤️🔥
*Fun fact, Slyvester Stallone infused much of Cus D'Amato's knowledge and philosophies into the characters for many Rocky movies.
