Printing photos is one aspect under this whole photography umbrella that often gets overlooked by just about everyone. There are only a handful of moments in life when people take photographic prints seriously, and in most cases, it's tied to three milestones. High school prom/senior photos, having kids and getting married. We all have photos of ourselves as kids because our parents or grandparents made sure to capture that period. The prom and senior photos are a bit of a tradition that you do, and couples like to splurge on high-end photography and wedding prints every year. Other than that, physical photos are becoming far and few between.
Much more of yourself needs to be captured and adequately/physically documented than just those milestone moments, and it has nothing to do with you. You need to begin preserving all those in-between moments throughout the stages of your life, not for vanity but for the ones who love and care for you. Whether we choose to acknowledge it or not, we don't have forever in this lifetime and never honestly know how much time we have. This ride we're all on has the same fate in the end, so it's your responsibility to make sure the ones you care about connect to your story through tangible pieces of your history, in pictures, throughout your life the way you want to be shared. Only you can tell your story, and it comes down to how you want to be remembered and what kind of legacy you want to leave behind. So, make sure to keep taking pictures of yourself and others. Make prints, create albums, frame your favorites, etc. You will be happy to put in the effort in the long run, and the real ones you shared your life with will be grateful.
