"We have consistently chosen a most difficult path filled with hardships. We must possess the will to challenge difficulties and the wisdom to create new values without being bound by established standards. We do not wish to imitate others." —Soichiro Honda, Founder of Honda.
It may seem difficult to believe, but with the global obsession with social media, individuality still shines brightest over the masses. Unique opportunities are constantly being created because the majority are out chasing the same things/ trends, wanting to fit in. Exceptionally few choose to do things on their terms regardless of popularity, yet, historically, those who've dared to do something different have had a more significant impact than any group thinking of the day.
Every innovation within any creative field started within the mind of one person's imagination and, in most cases, to the objection of public opinion. The Wright brothers were bicycle mechanics with just a high school education and became aviation pioneers. Henry Ford didn't even graduate high school yet was able to build a system of bringing cars to the masses. The musicians of the blues era set the stage for the innovators of Jazz and Rock & Roll. These examples were about individual ambition and drive with a curiosity about things yet to come. A bit of rebelliousness can be a positive force when intelligently combined with creativity and desire.
Whichever industry you're a part of, whether it's photography, fashion, film, modeling, music, etc., check yourself once in a while to ensure the way you pursue what you love is representative of what you want and is reflective of your individuality. Because at the end of the day, we're trading pieces of our lives for what we choose to go after, and with stakes that high, it only makes sense that what you express and share with the world comes from within yourself.

"Opinions are the cheapest commodities on earth. Everyone has a flock of opinions ready to be wished upon anyone who will accept them. If you are influenced by "opinions" when you reach DECISIONS, you will not succeed in any undertaking. Awake, arise, and assert yourself, you dreamers of the world."― Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich
