Art exhibition book

Over the weekend, while researching an upcoming photography project where I'll be flexing some design skills photographing FLOWERS!, I came across an old exhibition art book I had while working through some ideas. How dope is that intro page from the above image! "Paintings created to illustrate Divine Truth in accordance with the secret principles of Science and Soul." I've had that book for years, but that phrase hit this go-round differently when reading it. The information in that statement has always remained the same, but because I've changed as a person, I can see something in myself that wasn't there before revisiting that text years later.

The phrase from the book gave me the idea to write this blog post. I know people who read my blog and visit my website, in general, are creative by nature and passionate about expressing themselves with everything they do. So these topics are always fun to write about and more interesting than me blabbing about my camera settings, where 90 plus percent of the industry already has you covered there. With that said, let's dive in; this topic is interesting.

"Everything is energy, and that's all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want, and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics." - Einstein

Creative Connection

Connection is a word you see individuals and businesses use a lot nowadays. Some are authentic with it, continually holding things down where you can feel their energy and passion for what they do and talk about. But, like often with anything, others use it to pander to a demographic, hot topic, or trendy cause for the moment. With all of the social media algorithms and advertising campaigns thinking they know the real you, how does one separate the real from the ones as fake as a four-dollar bill? Before we can answer that, let's take a step back and look at some universal laws and the science behind creative connections artists have intuitively been in harmony with for centuries.

16th Century - "Art as the mirror of all nature" This encyclopedic compendium blends medicine and alchemy with scientific studies of nature, memory, and the soul. Artists throughout the ages have always been drawn to the unknown.

  1. Everything in the universe is in a constant state of motion.

  2. That motion is often referred to as vibration.

  3. The speed at which something vibrates is called frequency.

All of nature vibrates at various frequencies. Simple enough to understand, right? (Going in-depth about "why" is beyond the scope of this blog but feel free to fall down the rabbit hole of physics in your own research) Keeping things simple: One example could be how a person's body vibrates at a very high rate while the couch in your living room vibrates much slower.

Everything is energy/spirit, and everything vibrates. We literally have infinite potential. Like everything else in the universe, our thoughts are energy and will vibrate at different frequencies depending on the nature of the thought. Therefore thoughts and feelings control the vibrations of our bodies, where our emotional states and the images we create in our minds through imagination dictate the vibration that our body is in.

Can you see the connection? These vibrations dictate how you experience life to a large degree because they set up resonance with anything on the same frequency. Like attracts like. What's even wilder is all frequencies are connected together; there are no demarcations. It gives new meaning to how we're connected to each other and nature.

The excellent part is we have the power to dictate the frequency by choosing and directing our thoughts. If you aren't getting the results you want, you have to change your frequency and underlying patterns. The moment your belief matches with any state, you fuse with it. You become it.

All life grows by universal laws. Take a tiny seed; within that seed are patterns for the vibratory rate of growing a tree or plant. Your thoughts and ideas are like the seeds, and you'll attract the patterns for how to create them if you keep feeding them and become harmonious with your actions and belief system. When an Idea goes into your subconscious mind, that controls the vibration you're in.

1939 - Russia. Semyon & Valentina Kirlian developed a type of photography where they were convinced that their images showed a life force or energy field that reflected their living subjects' physical and emotional states. Kirlian photography is a technique for creating contact print photographs using high voltage. The process entails placing a sheet of photographic film on top of a metal discharge plate. The object to be photographed is then placed directly on top of the film. A high voltage current is momentarily applied to the thing, thus creating an exposure. The film captured the corona discharge between the object and the plate due to high voltage. The developed film results in a Kirlian photograph of the object.

You can't get results beyond the level of your thinking. The creative results you want require thinking on that frequency. Once you decide and commit to something where you have the will to get it no matter what, the right people, information, opportunities, teachers, coaches, friends, etc... seem to fall into your life at the correct times. Circling back to our original question, how do you separate the real from the phonies with the overload of information thrown at you daily? It's pretty simple; once you raise your level of awareness (frequency), you start to see and hear things that you would have never seen before, and the truth will always resonate with the essence of who you are.

Takeaways: Life is much more complex, beautiful, and mysterious than anyone knows (we're not an algorithm). Consciously choose your thoughts instead of letting current circumstances dictate what you think about. Everything we are seeking is seeking us. Outer reality takes shape based on your imagination.
