This week I wanted to give some insight into what it actually takes to produce a professional photo with Film photography. While the infographic below is an oversimplification, it will give you a better understanding of the overall process and series of events that have to take place and go right before you receive that final image. This process is ever-evolving, and the methods and workflow I do for some time could be different from a photoshoot with someone I worked with in the past and different from someone I work with in the future as I'm always looking to improve. Still, without proper vision and communication from the photographer/director (myself), nothing in the creative sequence can be executed properly. Every shot and roll of film is a fun, exciting dice roll well after the cameras are put away, producing consistent winning results every time! No risk, no reward!

It all starts with a vision for your photoshoot that your photographer Jesse Jacques creates and executes with lighting, film stock, and concept. Once Complete, Jesse quarterbacks and actively participates in the process for the next two to three weeks, communicating and working with elite creative professionals every step of the way. Your film rolls are packaged in Denver, Co, and sent to Los Angeles or New York for the chemical process of film development by the world's top industry professionals.

After the chemical development process, the photo lab scans the film negatives onto the computer with Jesse's artistic preferences and requests.

Once complete, the film negatives and photo scans are sent back to Denver, CO, where Jesse will review the images and begin to prepare and work on the photos for the client's desired final output.

At this point, Jesse works with the few personally vetted artists on his team from the U.S. and Europe who have the specialty skills needed to assist with elevating a concept to the next level. Images are ready for the client only after all the steps have been completed with precision and attention to detail. As you can see, film photography with Jesse Jacques is a labor of love and has the global energy and care of elite professional craftsmanship within every frame.
