Collaborate With The Universe

A Lil Throwback to when I was working on a location for a music project, where I had to move quickly through the row of houses along the coast, so we rented bicycles from a shop on the beach to not have to drive to each spot. Anything for the perfect shot, right? Well, I'm tall, and my bike wasn't the proper height where I could adjust, so it was funny seeing me pedal hard on that thing, haha. Anyway, I wanted to re-introduce myself to all the new people and supporters that visit this side of the internet, popping in on the website. I'm Jesse, a film photographer who's worked in many different creative disciplines that have influenced my perspective on photography. 💫

..... Continuing the theme for the month and building on the creativity blog from last week, I am sharing this short interview with legendary music producer Rick Rubin (who's produced hits for everyone from rock to rap to metal to country) from when he was recently on Joe Rogan's show. He communicates so many gems regarding creativity for any type of artist that I know some of you will benefit from, especially at the beginning of the year when many of us are pursuing new passions and challenges. And if you regularly read this blog, you'll already be on the same frequency with what he shares. It's no coincidence that so many creative people and artists keep sharing similar stories and knowledge regarding real artistry and creation where certain words and phrases keep popping up, like the Universe, Frequencies, Work Ethic, Magic, Waves, being true to your Inner voice, etc. If things like that vibe with you on some creative level, it might be worth exploring; if not, focus on something that does. That's the beauty of it; you can shift your personal reality at any time to SEE what makes sense for YOU. The phrase he mentioned in the interview, "Collaborating With The Universe," is so powerful and accurate and kind of blew me away when he said that because I've known that to be true in so many ways. Enjoy!

This song, produced by Rick Rubin, is wild. He sampled the drums from Led Zeppelin's "When The Levee Breaks" and merged them with the Main Guitar Riff from Black Sabbath's "Sweet Leaf." Integrating the old with the new at the time.

🎼 I get to photograph flowers this week for some Valentine's client work, and this song and video confirmed the color palette I was debating on while I was putting this blog post together. Works perfectly; you just have to be attuned to the signs.
